Rectangular opening BOQ — vertical/horizontal pipe grid & staggered layouts, weight & cutting length reports

Opening & Layout Input

Step 1

Verticals & horizontals run full length, forming a straight rectangular grid of cells.

—

Vertical pipe (uprights / pickets)
Horizontal pipe (rails)

Standard commercial bar length used to cut all pieces. The report below shows typical pieces per bar and the final leftover/offcut length.

Assumptions: When a border/frame is included, the two outer verticals and two outer rails/horizontals are counted as part of the vertical/horizontal member lists (same spec as interior members). In the Center-to-Center pattern, spacing is auto-adjusted slightly so members divide the opening evenly — vertical and horizontal members are always full-length, so there is a single typical cut length per group. In the Staggered pattern, horizontal rails run full width at each row; vertical pickets are cut to the clear row height and alternate rows are offset by half the vertical spacing (brick-bond effect) — this is where a shorter "final/remainder" cut length can appear if the opening height is not an exact multiple of the horizontal spacing. Weight uses indicative densities (GI/MS 7850, Aluminium 2700, Stainless 7930 kg/m³) — verify against your project specification before final ordering.
