Facade Noise Reduction Estimator — Estimate sound transmission loss through glass systems
Note: This is a conceptual acoustic estimation tool. Final performance must be verified by lab-tested STC data.

Fill in the noise conditions and glass specifications, then click "Calculate" to estimate acoustic performance.

This calculator estimates the Sound Transmission Class (STC) of glass facade systems using the mass law approximation. It provides an indicative estimate of noise reduction performance.
R (Transmission Loss) represents the sound reduction in decibels achieved by the glass system. The estimated inside noise is calculated as:
Inside dB = Outside dB − R
Glass surface density (M) is calculated as: thickness (mm) × 2.5 kg/m². Results are approximate — actual performance may vary based on installation quality, frame type, seals, and other factors.
